  199.         Unzip to a directory of your choice or floppy. Change to
  200.          that directory or floppy and type INSTALL. Follow the
  201.                     instructions on the screen.

  210.                             BACK UPS

  212.     PLEASE!!!!!! Do back ups regularly. Your Data Is Only As Safe
  213.                            As Your Back Ups.
  214.     Recommended back up procedures. Do a back up every day on
  215.     different tape/discs for one week. Take the last back up of the
  216.     week off premises for safe keeping and re-use the others next
  217.     week. At the end of the month you will have 4 or 5 off premises
  218.     for safe keeping. Do another back up on new tape/discs for the
  219.     end of the month. Take this one off premises also. Do one at
  220.     the end of the year also. At the end of the year you should
  221.     have 52 weekly back ups + 12 monthly back ups + 1 yearly back
  222.     up off premises for a total of 65 sets of back ups. Next year
  223.     you may use the 52 weekly back up sets over again, leaving 13
  224.     back up sets in permanent storage.

  228.                          GETTING STARTED

  230.        Type FISORDRS at the root directory to start FIS-ORDERS
  231.  
  232.        If you have a MicroSoft compatible MOUSE be sure to load
  233.              the MOUSE driver before loading FIS-ORDERS
  234.  
  235.       From the Main Menu - select - TOOLS - then - RE-INDEX FILES
  236.          (always re-index databases after installing programs)

  240.                            SET DEFAULTS
  241.  
  242.     Always enter the Company Name.
  243.  
  244.     If you choose to have the program enter your name and address
  245.     on the top of forms - fill out the information requested next.
  246.     If you choose to have the company info imprinted on forms -
  247.     leave this section blank.

  249.     If you wish to print long explanations (180 characters) with
  250.     ITEMS (inventory) answer the next question 'Y'.
  251.     In any case you will have the DESCRIPTION field which is 22
  252.     character long.

  254.     If you wish to charge State Sales Tax answer the next question
  255.     'Y'. If you answer yes the program will instruct you to enter
  256.     the sales tax amount required by your state and the state you
  257.     usually charge tax for.
  258.  
  259.     Are you choosing COST or PRICE for inventory totals. Both
  260.     systems are legal and the choice is up to you and your
  261.     accountant. Cost = price you paid for merchandise. Price =
  262.     price you charge for the merchandise.

  264.     The program has 12 user defined fields associated with the
  265.     customer file. The fields are for any information you
  266.     desire. Defaults allows you to change the names of these
  267.     fields for greater flexibility in recognizing what type of
  268.     information you want to enter in these fields.

  270.     You may choose to use a password for gaining entry to this pro-
  271.     gram. If you so choose, the program will instruct you to type
  272.     in the name of the old password - default - was none - just
  273.     press the enter key. Then the program will request your
  274.     password.  Type any word you choose - no spaces, letters and
  275.     numbers only. The program will request that you type in the new
  276.     password again, for verification. You will get 2 chances to do
  277.     this correctly after which the program will quit and you will
  278.     have to start over.

  280.     If the program determines that you possess a color monitor, it
  281.     will ask you if you wish to change the programs colors.
  282.     The default settings are        - w+/b,r/w/w -
  283.     "w+" white letters on a "b" blue background with a "w" white
  284.     border. The center "r" red letters on a "w" white background
  285.     are for the enhanced mode. You may change any of these colors
  286.     and you may choose 3 different enhanced modes for varying
  287.     effects.

  291.                        F.I.S. ZIP CODES v 1.2

  293.         Freshe Ideas Software - ZIP CODES v 1.2 is part of F.I.S.
  294.         Orders v 1.2. However due to space constraints the authors
  295.         have decided to place this module in it's own file. If you
  296.         desire to look up zip codes by zip, city, or state then you
  297.         must first download the program and install it with F.I.S.
  298.         Orders v 1.2. To ease the expense of acquiring shareware we
  299.         have decided to split up the cost by placing a value on each
  300.         module, therefore you need not spend the additional money to
  301.         run F.I.S. Orders v 1.2.
